Our Team – Sam Maxwell

Sam Maxwell
Senior Wealth Advisor

Sam brings over three decades of experience as an advisor to high-net-worth individuals and senior executives. Starting his career at Merrill Lynch in 1991, he held senior roles at Dain Rauscher/RBC, Morgan Stanley, and most recently as the CEO and founder of Executive Wealth Group, one of the top solo practices in the country.

Sam has amassed a wealth of experience and has seen his clients through the ups and downs of many market cycles, building his practice from the ground up, one client at a time over many years. It has been the focus of his life, and he is very proud of the long-term client relationships he has built.

His commitment to clients and developing longstanding, deep relationships has been the cornerstone of his career, and that made him a perfect fit to join the Bordeaux team in May 2024.

Sam has spent many years as a financial commentator in the local media. He was the stock market reporter/commentator for KIRO-AM 710 from 1997 to 2008. Sam was also a weekly guest commentator on NWCN’s money report and a regular guest on CNN’s “News Biz Today” and CNBC’s popular “Squawk Box” program. Additionally, Sam was part of the broadcast team for KIRO that covered the live broadcast of the 787 roll-out on July 8, 2007.

A former world-class Olympic weightlifter, Sam spent more than 30 years as an athlete, commentator, and coach. He served as NBC’s color commentator for weightlifting at the 2000 Summer Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia. The discipline and hard work that led to Sam’s success as a competitive athlete also served to shape his investment philosophy. That is why he shares with his clients that goal setting, careful planning, working through adversity, and understanding the time and commitment it takes to succeed are necessary elements in the pursuit of success as an investor.

Sam graduated from the University Washington in 1989 and is a member of the Investments and Wealth Institute.

He is a lifelong Washington resident, and has two adult sons.
